For 2025, we continue to have 4 scoring tiers. We have made some minor changes versus the 2024 scoring details, including reducing the number of points if there is a small turnout in a tier and reducing some of the bonus points for tournaments played. You can see the complete explanation of the scoring metrics in our 2025 points detail document.
General Scoring Details
Blue: 30 Points Max. Bonus points for Top 10
White: 20 Points Max. Bonus points for Top 7
Red: 12 Points Max. Bonus points for Top 3
Virtual: 8 Points Max. Players get top scores in up to 2 different formats
+1 for each tournament you participate in (reduced to .5 for every tournament after 5)
Bonus points are additive to your overall score. Players take only the top score in each tier they play in.
If you are interested in past scoring rubrics you can find them here: 2024 and 2023.
Rank Nationally
Each player that competes in an AMA sponsored event, and is an AMA member, will be nationally ranked. The more tournaments you play in and finish well, the higher your chances are to become the top-ranked mini golfer in the nation. Regardless of membership status AMA events are open to all participants.
