It was a rain-soaked event this year for the 43rd Farmington Miniature Golf Tournament. What started as a chance of showers through the morning turned into a steady rain for all three rounds. By the time players were into the second round, there was plenty of soaked turf and puddle-filled cups to content with throughout the course, not to mention struggles of keeping scorecards dry. This tournament is one of the more unique ones on the AMA schedule where you have to use course balls, which play quite differently through water than what many might be used to from more golf-ball centric tournaments.
It didn't keep down the top scores though. Josh Kestenbaum, who made his way down from Massachusetts, will still go sub-120 on a course that doesn't give up scores below 40 easily, pushing him to the top of the leaderboard and a two stroke win over Landon Weiss from NJ. Mark "The Highlighter" Novicki kept the home state from being swept on the podium though as he won a 9 hole playoff against Griffin Weiss after tying at 122 for the three rounds.
