In the 4th AMA event played on Walkabout Mini Golf VR, Jorge Rimblas takes first place yet again but this time not on his own. Ron Majersky shot a tournament best -21 on Quixote Valley’s hard course to match Jorge with an overall and impressive -41 under par. Mick Cullen wins 3rd place by one stroke over Matt Roalstad. Tom Loftus & Matt Roalstad tied Jorge for the low round score of -21 on Mars Garden easy, one of the newer Walkabout courses in 2024.
In addition to Ron, we had 4 first-time AMA Walkabout virtual event competitors in Bryan Akers, Highlighter, Lester Bowes, and Nikolai Friend.
Congrats to everyone on this final event of the 2024 season. The 2023 Spirit Award winner Max Cullen took the final putt of the season!
Event Details
The best virtual reality mini golf game, Walkabout Mini Golf, will once again provide virtual scoring opportunities for AMA points for 2024. This will be the 2nd virtual event on Walkabout for 2024 with the first having happened back in February.
The Discord channel that was the base for the previous AMA Walkabout virtual tournaments is not currently active so we’re working on a way to run a virtual tournament for AMA members where we would utilize the form linked below. Stay tuned and make sure you are a member of the AMA Events Facebook group. The format will be the same as past events where players will play two rounds in succession in the stroke play format. One on an easy course and one on a hard course.
The courses were selected live on the evening of November 4th live on Walkabout in the private room AMA. AMA organizers Tom, Pat & Mick were present and the following courses were selected at random!
Mars Garden Easy
Quixote Valley Hard
Mars Garden is one of the newer courses released in Summer 2024. We will be playing with conventional gravity mode and not low gravity mode so please practice the correct version. We’ve seen top scores of -26 and expect good rounds to be in the 20s. Quixote Valley has great scores in the low 20s but scores in the teens will be more than adequate on this tricky course.
For the competitive point-scoring event, we will have one AMA organizer or handpicked room host in a room either playing and/or observing the play to confirm people showed up on time and participated within the rules. Rules and expectations will be shared in advance in the AMA events group. We’ll collect screenshots of the results from each group and those will be the official scores.

We’re going to ask players who signed up to select their time availability or multiple preferences over in the AMA Events Facebook group or by messaging one of the AMA organizers.
To play, you’ll need to let us know your AMA membership name and your handle (aka name) on Walkabout so we can attribute points via a form you can find at https://bit.ly/amavirtualevent2024. We will only attribute points to those who opt-in before the event to let us know their screen names. All players must be active AMA members before they play their rounds. Points are based on the 2024 scoring rubric and are not additive if you played the previous Walkabout event. You only get the points from your best result.
