We’ve been doing Putt18 virtual events since 2023 and the scores in this event at the top level were the best to date. The top 5 scores would have all taken 1st place in our first 3 Putt18 events between 2023 and 204.
Congrats to New Jersey’s Jerod Mutter on his first AMA Putt18 event podium and win! He’s one of the biggest devotees of the putt at home game and put in one heck of a performance. Jerod’s one of the top Putt18 competitors in the world, but had not made a podium in previous AMA Putt18 events. His -40 over 4 rounds ties Tom Ochnikowski’s AMA Putt18 event record performance from November 2024. Canadian Francis Levine-Croteau had an equally impressive -37 to take home 2nd with a dazzling A/V display. Derek Hartmann from Illinois tied Jerod for the low round of the tournament with 56 and took home 3rd with a -32.
Honorable mentions to Tim & Tom Ochinkowski, who carded -31 and -30, respectively, to round out the top 5. Both shot rounds in the 50s, and their 4-round showings are in the top 10 all-time scores in our Putt18 events for the AMA.
The 30 competitors are yet another record for an AMA Putt18 event. We had two Canadians (Francis & Stephane) and three competitors from the United Kingdom (Dave Gomm, Phil McFarlane & John Sharp), along with a bunch of AMA members who played their first virtual event.
Congrats to everyone for showing up and competing. Head over to the AMA Events Facebook Group to watch all the rounds.

AMA Scoring: Virtual (2025 Scoring Details)
For 2025, a single AMA Putt18 Mat tournament will be played between Sunday, March 23 (12:01am US central time) through Saturday, March 29 (11:59pm central US time).
All competitors will stream their play live in the AMA Events Facebook Group so if you are an AMA member be sure to join that group to see some of the videos of people playing on the mat. We’ll be sharing videos on the rules in advance for those unfamiliar with playing on the mat.
Each competitor will play 4 rounds (72 holes) in succession at a time they announced in advance in the Facebook group. We’ll be utilizing the rules from World Pro League from Series 17 with a few differences. The unique variations are that players will be allowed to play rounds with a set of 3 golf balls if they opt not to use the Putt18 branded balls that come with the mat. The 3 balls must be identical in brand, year, and model. Players will need to clearly show that the balls are all identical and conform to the camera before they stream their rounds if they opt to use balls other than the Putt18 branded balls. Additionally, there will be no time limit for players completing their 4 rounds. There will be a single-line ball per round and you can read the rules regarding line balls.
If you are interested in learning more about the World League that happens throughout the year, check out the Putt18 World Pro League Facebook Group.
